How do kids’ early experiences impact their development?
Parent Child+ and the Changing Brain Lab at the University of Pennsylvania are working together to understand how children change as they grow up.
When you sign up, you will be offered one of two early learning programs. One will involve information on nutrition and monthly gift certificates for groceries. The other program will involve information on education, and monthly books and toys.
The first step is to fill out questionnaires about your child’s development and early experiences. This will take 30 minutes and you will be compensated $30. You can do the questionnaires on your phone or computer, or we can call you.
In one year, your child will have the opportunity to play some language, memory and math games at the Changing Brain Lab at the University of Pennsylvania in West Philadelphia. This will take 1 hour and you will be compensated $30.
Your child will be invited back to our lab for a scan visit. We will use MRI to take scans of your child’s developing brain. The compensation will be $100 for this MRI scan. For more information on MRI for kids, please visit the MRI page.
